The Joy in the Company of My Family?
Every year before Thanksgiving things might not always be the same, but there are certain ideas that make you see that it’s Thanksgiving. I’m sure that every person has their own view of it, but for me there are some occurrences that make Thanksgiving special. Thanksgiving is always when the leaves on trees are changing color. To see the leaves flow from one shade to another gives an amber glow to the day of Thanksgiving. That glow sets the stage for the wonderful food that’ll be prepared by warm hearts. Every year either at home or at a relative’s house these are always present during Thanksgiving.
There’s one last thing that makes up my Thanksgiving and that’s the joy of being in the company of my family.
Nothing can take the place of family and I will cherish it forever. The joy of a family is something that everyone should have and it’s always present during Thanksgiving. Whenever I’m enjoying Thanksgiving it’s always with my relatives and I hope it stays that way forever. I say that because the joy of having a family isn’t something every person has and we who have this joy should give thanks for what we have. On that note I call to mind the way Thanksgiving is spelled. Thanks and giving make up Thanksgiving, naturally on Thanksgiving you are supposed to give thanks. You might ask yourself “Give thanks for what?” For everything God has given you of course! If you still cannot think of something to give thanks for, then I’ll tell you a few of the things I’ll give thanks for.
I’ll give thanks for this day that God has given me. I’ll give thanks for the food that was prepared, for a family that I may enjoy Thanksgiving with and just having fun being with them. I’ll give thanks for BLD, where I’ve grown up in the light of God, where I’ve met wonderful people that help me grow, where I hope to be every Friday and want to be every single day, and where I’ve made amazing friends and have enjoyed every moment I’ve been with them. I’ll give thanks for every single person I’ve met because I wouldn’t be the same person I’d be if I hadn’t met even one less of the people that I’ve encountered in my life. I’ll give thanks for school even though I don’t really enjoy it. I believe that even though I’m only in the 8thgrade every effort I put into studying will lead me to get a better employment and so I thank school for preparing me for what is to come. Finally and most importantly I’ll give thanks to God for my life because with it I’ve experienced many things and hopefully many more.

It's All About God's Love!
Thanksgiving is a sign of love to me. It's when we thank the Lord for what He has done for us. We thank Him for the things He has given to us, such as our family, shelter, and other things we have until today. As a sign of respect, we say thank you prayers to Him. It's when we praise and honor Him for His great glory. Thanksgiving is when we say many prayers! It's a day when we express our gratitude and feel blessed for every small good thing that has happened to us in our everyday life. Without God, we are nothing. All of us are really blessed to have Him in our everyday lives. God has given us everything we needed to live. The most special gift He gave us is His son, Jesus Christ. We thank God for sending Him from heaven to save us from sins. "Give thanks to the Lord for He is good; His love endures forever." (Psalm 107:1)
Remembering God's Goodness!
We all know that the Thanksgiving Holiday is a day we remember all that God has blessed us with and become grateful for what we have now. Thanksgiving is a day that we acknowledge all God gives us, like He blessed the Pilgrims with a feast back in the 1600's. Thanksgiving is a time of gathering, kindness, and rejoicing. We should all remember that we are nothing without the presence of God in our lives.
I truly love Thanksgiving and it is one of my favorite holidays. Every year, my mom, dad, and brother spend quality time with one another. We watch movies, talk about our day, and gather at the dinner table to eat delicious food my dad made. We call some relatives who live far away and wish them a happy Thanksgiving and wish they would be with us now.
My family gathers up some of my old clothes that don’t fit me and toys that my brother and I don’t play with and donate them to our Church so they can be sent to all the children who are less fortunate than us. We go to Church and pray to thank God for letting us have these blessings He gives us. We do these acts to become better disciples of God, and to give back to Him after all He has done for us.
The part my family and I love most is rejoicing about the gifts we received. God has blessed me with a good home, home-cooked meals, and loving and close family that care for me so much. I can’t thank God enough for what He has given me. As we near Thanksgiving, I try to put my mind in the right mind-set that God wants us to be. I try to finish my chores, not be disobedient to my family, and study a lot harder in school. I do this because this is how I will give back to God this year. I rejoice that I am here today and wouldn’t want anything more.
We often forget the true meaning of Thanksgiving and just remember it as a day to be with family. However, we also must know that God has brought us into this world and gave us all these wonderful things. We must acknowledge that God always gives abundantly and we must do our best to give back to Him.
